How does a teeth whitening party work?

Hand off the setup and spend the night as a guest at your own party.

At night in a brick-walled living room hung with string lights, a Black woman with long braids, an emerald silk blouse and amber glasses sits back in a cognac leather lounge chair. A white rolling lamp stands beside her, and its curved head casts blue light across her smile. Nearby, a Black man, a white woman and a Latina woman laugh with drinks in hand beside an emerald velvet sofa, among brass lamps and walnut paneling.

Picture a Saturday in your living room, in Hyde Park or across the river in Newport. Your sister is settled in with her tray, two friends have claimed the selfie station, and the conversation never stops for anyone’s turn. The studio’s line says it in two sentences: “We bring the glow. You bring the people.”

What actually happens at a whitening party?

There are two ways to throw one, and your part in both is the guest list and the date. With On the Go Group Glow Up, the Glow Ambassadors arrive at your place with the LED light, the oral prep kits and a selfie station, set everything up, and the party runs for two hours. With The Glow Lounge Takeover, your group has the lounge on Madison Road to itself for two and a half hours.

Take over the lounge and the room sets the mood for you. As Danyale puts it on the studio’s site, “Inside, the energy shifts. The lights dim. The arctic blue rises. The room becomes the moment.”

When it’s your turn, you settle in and place the tray yourself, and it stays in for the full 20 to 25 minutes. A trained whitening technician sets up your station, walks you through each step, and stays with you — you handle everything that goes in your mouth.

Do the math before the night. Nine to twelve guests at 20 to 25 minutes each is a lot of tray time for two hours at your place, or two and a half at the lounge. Ask up front how many guests can whiten at the same time, and build the night around the answer.

Plan the menu around the aftercare, too. For at least two hours after their session, each guest skips coffee, tea, dark sodas, red wine and anything else that stains.

Two women laugh with their eyes closed and heads together on a tufted emerald velvet sofa, each holding a stemless glass of sparkling water, with exposed brick, string lights and a brass floor lamp behind them and other guests talking in the blurred background.

How much does a whitening party cost per person?

At your place, the party is listed at $200 a guest. The booking page takes 5% off at checkout, which brings it to $190 a guest, or $1,710 to $2,280 for nine to twelve. The whole lounge is a flat $2,499, so every friend you add lowers each person’s share, from $277.67 at nine to $208.25 at twelve.

Nine friends could each book the $125 In-Studio Glow Up instead and spend $1,125 between them. The party at your place comes to $585 more at checkout.

That difference turns nine separate trips to the studio into one night together at your place.

Prices as listed, September 2026. The bold rows are the two parties, priced for nine. The other rows are there for scale, and they are different products. The American Dental Association sorts whitening into in-office bleaching, dentist-supplied products for use at home and over-the-counter whiteners.

How is a party at home different from taking over the lounge?

At home, the party comes to your own space for two hours, priced per guest, selfie station included. The takeover hands you the whole lounge for two and a half hours at a flat $2,499 for up to twelve, with the arctic-blue light, the massage chair and a grazing station.

The bigger your group, the closer the two prices get. By twelve guests, the party at your place reaches $2,280 at checkout, just under the lounge’s $2,499.

Three friends laugh and pick food from a long wooden grazing table with candles and flowers, while two guests lean back in cognac leather recliners under a soft blue ceiling light in a walnut-paneled lounge.

Will the party come to your neighborhood?

Yes. On the Go Group Glow Up is built for your place, whether that’s a few minutes away in Hyde Park or across the river in Covington. For a takeover, the same times show how far your group would drive to the lounge.

What if your group is smaller than nine, or bigger than twelve?

Both party formats start at nine guests and stop at twelve, and no other party package covers a smaller or bigger group.

For a smaller group, each friend can still book the $125 In-Studio Glow Up, under 30 minutes in the chair, which comes to $500 for four of you or $1,000 for eight. Those are each their own booking. For a smaller circle at home, there’s also a $175 private 20-minute session that travels to you, one guest per booking.

Whatever your number, call (877) 3-FROWNS or start the quiz with your real headcount before you plan the night around it.

Who should check with a dentist before the party?

A few guests may need to see their dentist first. That means anyone with untreated decay, active gum disease, an unexplained single dark tooth, tetracycline banding, or pain that predates any whitening. Sessions aren’t offered during pregnancy, as a studio precaution, and anyone under 18 should confirm with the studio before booking.

Put that list in the invitation, so every guest can settle their own answer well before the date.

Crowns, veneers, bonding and composite fillings don’t lighten. The American Dental Association says only natural teeth can be whitened, so tooth-colored dental work keeps its color and can end up standing out against the teeth beside it. If most of what shows when you smile is dental work, start with the dentist who placed it.

Some guests will wonder how their teeth might feel afterward. The ADA lists temporary tooth sensitivity and gum inflammation as the most common adverse effects of whitening and describes both as typically transient. Its guidance was written about whitening from dentists and over-the-counter products, and it doesn’t address studio sessions.

Danyale is not a dentist, and no one in the lounge diagnoses anything. A question about your own mouth belongs with a dentist who can examine it.

How do you book a whitening party?

Start with the quiz. It asks the occasion, roughly how many are coming and where you’d gather. When you’re ready to lock in a date, the party at your place is reserved on the booking page with a $150 deposit, and the takeover starts with a free 15-minute call. The lounge is open daily from noon, with the final experience at 7 PM.

Your balance goes to the card on file seven days before the date, and you can adjust the guest count by replying to your confirmation any time up to that mark. Both prices are for the booking as a whole.

The deposit is non-refundable, and it counts in full toward your balance. Reschedule and it moves to the new date along with anything else you’ve paid. Cancel outright and there’s no refund, though what you’ve paid is held as credit toward a future experience. If the studio has to cancel on its end, you get a full refund.

Planning for a bridal party? Work out how long before a wedding to whiten, then pick the night.

Worth asking when you book:

  • How many guests can whiten at the same time?
  • How much room and how many outlets does the setup need at my place?
  • Does a friend who comes but doesn’t whiten count toward the nine, and do I count if I whiten too?
  • Is mobile confirmed for my address in Mason or West Chester, and does distance add a charge?
  • What will the takeover’s grazing station hold, with the two-hour rule in mind?
  • Can guests each pay their own share?
